Bournemouth Borough Council recently ran a rejuvenation campaign to freshen up some parts of town. Here they commissioned for a multi-agency project involving artist Ilse Black, who worked with local schools to produce the mural.
We were asked by the local council to produce a large mural that would sit along one wall of a subway walkway in Bournemouth. We worked alongside the team who renovated the subway by re plastering and cleaning the space.
We printed the mural onto tough exterior vinyl, then laminated it with anti-graffiti protection. The width of the mural spanned over 30m and was our largest print install to date! We made several visits to the site to ensure the mural was installed straight, level and at the correct height as the walls and floor sloped.
The council held a carol service in the subway with the two local schools involved in the project to celebrate this new public space.
